Reporting to the RAN Operations Manager, the role of the incumbent shall be to ensure proper running of Vodacom Lesotho Access Network (mobile and fixed).
Job Responsibility
- Manage services availability through sites power planning, BSC and RNC capacity upgrades.
- New technologies deployments and researches including but not limited to 4G ,5G and 6G.
- Accelerating power efficiency through artificial intelligence(AI) in line with group strategy and policies
- Project Management; Manage contractors and suppliers for planned capacity upgrades
- Planning of the power upgrade based on future and current fit for growth requirements, organizational goals, and technology strategy to meet KPI targets, group technology strategy and business priorities.
- The Development of Technical Risks and equal mitigations for risks relating to power systems at sites and at data centres.
- Supervision and commissioning of radio nodes that include Base Station Controllers (BSCs) & Radio Network Controllers (BSCs) as per the vendor’s guide documentation.
- Plan, construct, test and continuously update Technical Recovery Procedure (TRP) for RANs, to ensure that we recover & protect business Network infrastructure in the event of disaster
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in Telecommunication Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or relevant tertiary qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in telecommunications is desirable
