Position Summary:

The Senior Database Administrator (DBA) will work within the Technology team to develop an understanding of data and information needs, identify solutions, and improve the quality of service while providing support through the logical and physical design of databases. They will also be responsible for maintaining the integrity and performance of the company databases and guarantee the data is stored securely and efficiently.

Technologies you will be working with:

AWS, RDS, MySQL, Aurora, EC2, S3, SingleStore, MSSQL, SSIS, SSRS, Windows, PowerShell, Ubuntu, Bash, Atlassian Jira/Confluence, Teamcity, Octopus, RedGate Source Control, Zabbix

Role And Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain, and execute on improvements to our databases and as we scale our systems to meet customer demand.
  • Monitor, identify, and troubleshoot technical database incidents, performance issues and query optimization.
  • Participate in architectural reviews to guide application and system designs to meet product requirements.
  • Use data analysis to pick up trends before they become major problems.
  • Serve as a knowledge leader and mentor for technical teams.
  • Daily maintenance, monitoring, problem resolution and internal support
  • Database & Application performance tuning.
  • Root cause analysis of production-related database issues

What we want from you:

  • 5+ years of experience in operating high-traffic environments.
  • Expert knowledge on database internals
  • Strong technical skills
  • Solid scripting skills (e.g., TSQL, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Experience with performance diagnostics, performance tuning, capacity planning, and monitoring.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
