JOB TITLE : SENIOR CURRICULUM DEVELOPER

GRADE : H

RESPONSIBLE TO : DIRECTOR ACADEMIC

JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of Director Academic, the incumbent will be responsible for review research and development of training curriculum and materials for institutional training programmes. He/she will operate within the confines of national development plans, National institutional policies and procedures.

  1. CURRICULUM EVALUATION AND DEVELOPMENT
    1.1 Leads the institutional programme reviews and evaluation processes
    1.2 Assist in planning, development and implementation of revised curriculum in line with business changes and best practices
    1.3 Constantly conduct research and consult key stakeholders for curriculum review and development purpose
    1.4 Prepares institutional materials for printing and develop outlines with necessary details to direct instruction
    1.5 Develop learning objectives for existing curriculum
    1.6 Informs the development of a research database that may be utilized to develop and review curriculum,
    1.7 Identifies resources required to develop and deliver training projects.

  1. LIAISE WITH TRAINING FACILITATORS AND ADVISE DIRECTOR ACADEMIC TO ENHANCE CONTROL AND CONSISTENCY
    2.1 Regularly meet training facilitators to provide support on ways of
    delivering the revised/new curriculum
    2.2 Prepare and conducts presentations to instructors’/training
    facilitators on training projects,
    2.3 Prepare briefing notes, proposals and reports for instructors and Director Academic.
  2. REVIEW AND MONITOR IMPLEMENTATION OF DESIGNED CURRICULUM
    3.1 Designs monitoring tools
    3.2 Conducts progress review meetings to training facilitators and report to Director Academic
    3.3 Interprets national policies and guidelines to pave way for changes in the curriculum
    3.4 In liaison with programmes Director, proposes some changes to the existing curriculum to keep up with business demands
  3. PREPARES AND COMPILE CURRICULUM DESIGNER BUDGET AND OPERATIONAL PLAN
    4.1 Annually prepares curriculum design operational plan
    4.2 Prepares and submit budget inputs for curriculum design
    4.3 Presents performance and financial reports to Director Academic for endorsement

JOB SPECIFICATION

• Master’s degree in Education with specialization in curriculum design and development plus two (2) years’ experience as curriculum developer

Or

• Post — Graduate Diploma/Honours in Education with specialization in Curriculum design and development plus three (3) years’ experience as curriculum developer.
OR
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education with specialization in Curriculum design and development plus four (4) years’ experience as curriculum developer.

The incumbent will make regular contact with Ministry of Planning, Council on Higher Education, Instructors, MoET, Institutions of Higher Learning, and office of the Registrar-LIPAM.
