Purpose of role
UMI Fund is seeking an experienced professional to help set up, lead, and coordinate a new initiative that aims to strengthen the organisational resilience and security of a network of global climate philanthropic institutions.
Reporting to the UMI Fund Special Project Director, the Senior Coordinator for Resilience and Security will help convene a network of philanthropic stakeholders and provide support services to the members on organisational resilience and preparedness best practices. The Senior Coordinator will liaise with the network members and other funders to promote learning and peer to peer exchange, contributing to a strengthened ecosystem of climate funders. As an example of responsibilities, it will be expected that the Senior Coordinator helps to create a dashboard of preparedness to monitor resilience, gather country or regional analysis, provide courses or sets of training, as well as manage a library of resources for the network members. Considering the network is spread around the world, the Senior Coordinator will have experience working globally or bring knowledge of certain geographic regions, such as Africa, Latin America, or Southeast Asia.
Primary responsibilities
The job holder will have the following key responsibilities:
- Co-create, implement, and manage the overall coordination of an internal network security hub.
- Ensure the hub is set up, responsibly run, is accountable to, and responds to member needs.
- Liaise with network members, donors, consultants, service providers, and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring smooth communications and coordination.
- Coordinate with and identify other stakeholders and/or networks with deep expertise in security, risk management, and crisis response best practices.
- Ensure there are learning platforms and resources like trainings and spaces for peer-to-peer learning, as well as design sessions at the annual in-person network meeting in collaboration with the UMI Fund team.
- Research, compile, and share regular briefings or updates on security and resilience for network members and other philanthropic partners.
- Implement and oversee a dashboard of preparedness to monitor progress, collecting and evaluating, as well as the adoption of project management tools to track progress.
- Oversee and manage information platforms used for sharing documents, including any necessary review of security and accessibility for group members.
- Support the overall administration and financial reporting of the initiative in collaboration with the UMI Fund Finance Team.
Requirements:
Experience
- Previous experience in project management and facilitation, working remotely and across different geographies.
- Proven working knowledge of security, risk management, and organisational resilience
- Experience with designing, implementing, and facilitating training is a benefit.
- Familiarity with climate philanthropy and grantmaking entities is a plus.
- High degree of professionalism and integrity to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
- Proactive and resourceful with a strong sense of initiative and ability to work independently.
- A flexible team player who is a fast learner and comfortable working in a highly collaborative (remote) team culture.
- Comfort in working collectively with networks, coalitions, and alliances of stakeholders
- Ability to travel internationally for conferences and team meetings
- Cultural Competency: understanding of diversity and inclusion issues, including race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, and other dimensions of diversity, and the ability to navigate complex cultural dynamics.
Comments:
- Compensation will be determined according to the location of hiring, and the relevant salary range will be shared on request.
- Official holidays according to the country where the contract has been signed. Local and personal cultural traditions and religious practices will be respected.
- Annual work from home allowance equivalent to $1K USD (converted to local currency).

- Healthcare (includes vision and dental) covering family members, including legal partners, children below the age of 18, and legal dependents as defined by the country of employment. The cost of the health plan or insurance may be shared between the UMI Fund and the staff member, depending on the conditions offered in the country of employment. This will be agreed at the time of hiring.
- 20 working days annual paid vacations plus 10 days year-end break.

- 2 days of work time each calendar year to participate in volunteer work with a non-profit organisation.
- Bereavement leave, from 2 to 20 working days, paid leave according to the level of relationship with the loved one.
- Flexible work arrangements:
- Regular working hours: 40 hours per week, 8-hour day between 9 am and 5 pm local time. To ensure collaboration and good communication, any changes to these hours must be agreed upon between staff and line manager in advance and noted in the calendar shared with the team.
- Due to the geographical distribution of our team, it may be necessary to work non-standard hours in order to participate in meetings with those located in other time zones. UMI Fund always prioritises the well-being of its staff and strongly recommends that no one works before 6 am or after 9 pm. If it is necessary in exceptional situations to work at these times, staff should offset the hours no later than two days after, to ensure time for rest.
- Local regulations will always prevail and will be observed to determine the final contract conditions.
