INSTITUTE OF DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT (IDM)
The Institute of Development Management (IDM) is a public institution of higher learning, accredited by the Ministry of Education and Training and regulated by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) under the Higher Education Act. IDM provides management development services through four pillars: Education, Training, Research, and Consultancy (ETRC) across three core disciplines.
As part of strengthening its public health offerings, IDM seeks to appoint highly motivated and qualified individuals to the positions of Senior Consultant-Emergency Medical Care (EMC) and Senior Consultant – Occupational Safety and Health.
𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥:
• Design, deliver and evaluate training programmes
• Manage consultancies and research projects
• Oversee course administration, moderation and assessment
• Market IDM products and services, ensuring excellent customer relations
• Ensure compliance with IDM policies and systems
• Lead curriculum development and review
• Prepare learners for projects and practicums
• Manage taught programs and day-to-day operations
• Develop credit and non-credit bearing courses
• Conduct management consultancies, including needs analysis and on-site investigations
𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗿-𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗠)
𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐦 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
• Master of Science (MSc) in SHE Management or MSc in Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Management or related discipline..
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant teaching, research, and/or consulting experience or OSHE role, preferably in a higher education or training environment.
• Membership or certification with a recognized OSHE professional body (e.g., NEBOSH, JOSH, SAIOH).
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, or Internal Auditing of ISO standards is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with implementation and internal auditing of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards is essential.
• Strong background in local OSHE legislation, risk management, international best practices and compliance audits.
