Division: Governance and Socio-Economic Development (GSED)
Number of Posts: 1 (One)

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Chief Consultant, the incumbent is responsible for undertaking training, consultancy, and research assignments on Governance and Socio-economic Development issues.

Main Duties

1. Train and Facilitate Management Courses/Programmes

  • Conduct training sessions for clients and students
  • Develop training manuals to facilitate training
  • Present completed training manuals and packages to Chief Consultant for quality approval
  • Prepare training calendar
  • Release and present new training modules
  • Review divisional courses/programmes
  • Coach divisional consultants

2. Lecture in Long-Term Programmes

  • Develop programme outlines
  • Conduct lessons for students
  • Provide career guidance
  • Supervise diploma students in management studies
  • Assist students in research proposal writing
  • Establish contacts between students and relevant organisations and ministries for research
  • Develop guidelines for student supervision
  • Monitor student progress

3. Undertake Research and Consultancy Assignments

  • Prepare research and consultancy proposals
  • Carry out consultancy work
  • Present research findings
  • Compile reports on research and consultancy

4. Organise Conferences, Seminars, and Workshops

  • Identify themes on topical issues
  • Identify speakers for presentations
  • Liaise with the Course Coordinator to arrange speakers
  • Coordinate logistics with the Course Coordinator
  • Initiate funding for events

5. Publish Papers and Articles

  • Write articles for newsletters and journals
  • Present papers at seminars and conferences

Job Specification

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Development Studies, or related field, plus experience in training/teaching, consultancy, and research
    OR
  • Postgraduate Diploma or Honours Degree in Public Administration, Development Studies, or related field, plus experience in training/teaching, consultancy, and research
    OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Development Studies, or related field, plus two (2) years’ experience in training/teaching, consultancy, and research
