DIVISION : INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND COMPUTER TRAINING

JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Chief Consultant, the Consultant will be responsible for provision of training on Information and Communication Technology to Public Officers and will also teach Public Administration and Public policy to diploma students.

MAIN DUTIES

  1. TRAINS AND FACILITATES INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY COURSES/PROGRAMS
    1.1 Conducts training sessions for clients and students

1.2 Develop training manuals to facilitate training
1.3 Presents completed training manuals and packages to Chief Consultant for quality approval

1.4 Prepares training calendar

1.5 Releases and presents new training modules

1.6 Reviews divisional courses/programmes

  1. LECTURES IN LONG-TERM PROGRAMMES

2.1 Develops programme outline

2.2 Conducts lessons for students

2.3 Develops career guidance for students

2.4 Supervises diploma students in Public Administration studies

2.5 Assists students in research proposal writing
2.6 Establishes contacts between students and relevant organizations and ministries for research area
2.7 Develops guidelines for students supervision

2.8 Monitors students progress

  1. UNDERTAKES RESEARCH AND CONSULTANCY ASSIGNMENTS

3.1 Prepares research and consultancy proposals

3.2 Carries out consultancy and research

3.3 Presents research findings

3.4 Compiles reports on research and consultancy

  1. ORGANIZE CONFERENCES, SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS

4.1 Identifies themes on topical issues

4.2 Identifies speakers to provide papers for presentations

4.3 Liaise with course coordinator in arranging speakers

4.4 Arranges all logistics in liaison with course coordinator

4.5 Initiates funding for events

  1. PUBLISH PAPERS AND ARTICLES

5.1 Writes articles for newsletters and journals

5.2 Presents papers at seminars and conferences

JOB SPECIFICATION
The applicant must hold:
• Master’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology Experience in Teaching will be an added advantage

Or

• Post — Graduate Diploma/Honours in Computer Science / Information Technology plus at least two (2) years teaching experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology plus at least three (3) years teaching experience
