Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is motivated by the Gospel of Jesus Christ to cherish, preserve and uphold the sacredness and dignity of all human life. CRS has been operating in Lesotho since 2003, helping alleviate the suffering of the needy in different areas. Our current programming portfolio in Lesotho focuses on reducing transmission and impact of HIV & AIDS, responding to emergencies, improving livelihoods, and strengthening early childhood development. To achieve all these CRS works with over a half dozen local implementing partners of different capacities.
Job Summary:
You will lead all risk related activities for the country program (CP) and will be responsible for addressing the principal weaknesses identified in the Internal Control Questionnaire as well as for implementing the Corrective Action Plan for the CP. You will set the tone for increased compliance among all staff in CRS-Lesotho, adhering to all CRS policies, local laws, and donor regulations to help ensure effective delivery of high-quality programming to the poor and vulnerable. You will provide ongoing orientation and training to all staff and partners, as appropriate, regarding the various areas of risk and compliance. Your knowledge and skills will help reduce risk to staff, to the effectiveness of our programming and to the people we serve through the application of the principles of stewardship, integrity, transparency, and accountability.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or other relevant field. Accounting and other relevant certification(s) a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years work experience, ideally with an international organization, with progressive responsibility in operations and/or programming. At least 2 of these years entailing audit, compliance or risk management experience.
- Knowledge of audit standards and compliance regulations and familiarity with international standards for internal control and risk and compliance management (e.g., COSO, ISO, COBIT)
- Familiarity with accounting systems.
- Proficient in MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and information management systems.
