Senior Buyer – Internal and External
Cullinan Diamond Mine is situated in the town of Cullinan 30km east from Pretoria.
Job Grade: C3 Reference Nr: CUL424
Job Purpose: Provide a procurement/purchasing function to ensure implementation and adherence to policies and procedures
according to Supply Chain objectives and client needs.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Administer the pre/post expediting process to ensure delivery on or before promised dates
Continuously review suppliers by value to determine performance levels according to organisational standards
Identify new or alternative sources of supply by continually monitoring the supply market for new products and/or innovations
Ensure price accuracy on the system
Liaise with end-users regarding purchasing status and continuously provide feedback
Monitor the performance of the buying process, including monitoring of price movement and addition/deletion of suppliers
according to organisational procedures
Negotiate trade terms and discount structures with suppliers
Responsible to administer and attend to all purchasing related queries
Responsible to ensure that the purchasing process complies with the Company policies, procedures and relevant legislation
Responsible to identify new or alternative sources of supply by continually monitoring the supply market for new products and/or
innovations
Responsible for the processing of orders
Comply with all Health, Safety & Environmental company standards, practices and legislation.
Other tasks & responsibilities not listed above, yet required to meet the purpose of the position, towards achieving company
objectives
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12
Diploma Logistics Management OR Diploma : Supply Chain OR Diploma : Purchasing Management
Valid Drivers’ Licence
Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate)
A minimum of 3 years’ buying experience.
Advantageous:
A minimum of 5 years’ mine stores experience – performing key tasks in the Stores
Other Skills/ Competencies:
Attention to Detail and Ensure Accuracy; Communication Skills; Planning; Problem Solving; Reliability
