Semi-skilled Beltmans (BU) x 2
JOB DESCRIPTION/ PURPOSE
To assist with safe control, maintenance and replacement of conveyor belts / systems and components such as belt scraper / belt skirtings to ensure optimized availability of the conveyor systems at all times.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• 2 years’ experience as a Beltsman Assistant in a plant or manufacturing environment;
• COSC plus a relevant beltsman certificate from a recognized / accredited institution;
• Knowledge of conveyor belt system, maintenance techniques, tools and principles of belt splicing;
• Use of machine and tools including their design, repair and maintenance.
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
• Time management;
• Optimal use of materials and spares;
• Sound technical trouble shooting/ fault finding skills;
• Proficiency in English;
• Quality control and plant equipment maintenance;
• Hand-eye coordination skills

N.B. These are Mine based positions on a rotational cycle. Applicants must be aware of the remote location of the mine, approximately 130km East-North-East of the Lesotho capital Maseru, 360km South of Johannesburg. Being a remote site, we require our staff to always show courtesy and cultural sensitivity to fellow Team Members and the surrounding local communities.
