Job Title: Security Supervisor (Level 2)
Reports To: Security Manager / Deputy
Number of Positions: 2
Job Purpose
The Security Supervisor (Level 2) is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day supervision of security personnel and operations at a cannabis facility. This role supports the Level 1 Security Supervisor by ensuring compliance with company policies, cannabis industry regulations, and safety protocols, with a strong focus on entry-level supervision, incident response, and shift coordination.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise a team of security officers during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to post orders and company policies
• Monitor access control at facility gates, entrances, and restricted areas
• Conduct regular patrols to ensure safety, security, and regulatory compliance
• Manage visitor access, escort contractors, and inspect employee items as per policy
• Ensure proper completion and submission of security logbooks and incident reports
• Support emergency response coordination for fire, medical, and security incidents
• Report security breaches, policy violations, or suspicious behavior to senior staff
• Assist in training junior officers and maintaining high security awareness
• Help maintain surveillance systems, radios, and other security tools
• Act as relief supervisor in the absence of the Level 1 Supervisor
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: High School Certificate or equivalent (Security training certification is an advantage)
• Experience: 1–2 years in a security officer or assistant supervisory role, preferably in a regulated environment (e.g., cannabis, pharmaceutical)
• Language: Fluent in English and Sesotho

• Basic supervisory and leadership skills

• Attention to detail and situational awareness
• Knowledge of cannabis facility compliance and security protocols
• Physical fitness and responsiveness to incidents
• Integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information
Working Conditions
• Shift-based work, including weekends and public holidays
• Indoor and outdoor duties in varying weather conditions
• Long periods of standing or walking
• May require emergency response during off-hours
