SECURITY MANAGER (PATERSON BAND DU).

Letšeng seeks to engage a qualified Mosotho professional with appropriate skills and aptitude to fill the position of Security Manager (Paterson Band DU).

PURPOSE: The Security Manager has the overall accountability for effective security governance across all disciplines. The incumbent is accountable for embedding and sustaining security effectiveness through the development and implementation of and alignment with Risk-Based Standards, Value Management Maturity Model and the Security Assurance Process.

MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Formulate, lead and drive the implementation of Letšeng’s security strategy to maximize the protection of mineral resources and products

• Embed and sustain security effectiveness through alignment with risk-based standards and Value Management Maturity Model criteria; Evaluate implications of emerging technology and new systems development across all departments for security risks and defines security needs and design principles, which need to be adhered to within projects

• Provide a fully Integrated Security Management Information System (ISMIS), which takes into account implications of new technologies and complements production processes; Develop and maintain effective communication channels with Government agencies on crime issues, trends and cooperation on the active involvement, training and promotion of resources

• Structure and staff the Security department in line with strategic objectives by designing functional groupings and well-defined levels of reporting responsibility

• Analyse the departmental financial needs to develop a budget and ensure sufficient resources to meet business needs; Manage and control resources allocated funds and operates within approved parameters

• Evaluate and maintain legal compliance of security approach and functions

• Ensure the adequacy of the product export process and mitigates the risk of any product losses in the process

• Develop and maintain internal and external networks and contact e.g. LEA, communities, employees etc. for information gathering to ensure an effective investigation process and optimal asset protection; Manage security service providers

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• 10 years in a Senior Security Management role relevant to the diamond industry

• A tertiary professional qualification (Degree or Diploma in Security or Risk Management)

• Proven track record of successfully identifying and eliminating diamond loss occurrences

• Establishment of successful intelligence

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Appreciation of the significance and impact of identified security-related risks on the achievement of company objectives; Ability to establish and leverage relationships with private and state security agencies and partners; Extensive knowledge of integrity testing tools and methodologies

• Comprehensive knowledge of all relevant diamond security technologies; Conversant with national legislation and international best practice in diamond security; The ability to proactively detect changes required in the business interest and to implement the necessary mechanisms to manage the change without negative impact on the organisation High level of self-management with a strong focus on planning, organizing and task management Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all management levels

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Successful completion of appropriate integrity tests
