purpose

To ensure that all securities are complete (i.e. we have all the required documentation). To check that the documents are legally in order. To ensure that all documents that are received or taken out of the securities have been accounted for, and that the securities records have been correctly updated. To maintain a safe custody register. To prepare schedule of outstanding securities for all branches. To work according to the Credit charter and signed accordingly.

experience and qualifications

  • Minimum Qualification : Diploma in Law or relevant qualification, a solid understanding of Credit risk
  • Experience : At least 1 year Credit experience

responsibilities

  • Securities Registering / logging and checking of securities including supporting documents to security register on a daily basis
  • Open files for all new securities received
  • Storage / filling of all required documents
  • Control of all documents being retrieved (temporary and permanent)
  • Co-ordination of all obsolete securities and archiving thereof
  • Authorize the release of securities
  • Registering and canceling of Investments, Bonds Fire Policies (including renewal thereof) Life Policies
  • Check for correctness in the securities being logged
  • To perform all the tasks of the Team Leader in his absence
  • To ensure that the diary systems for Fire cover, Investments, Policies, and Guarantees etc are continuously monitored, kept current and up to date
  • To maintain a safe custody registers and charges the respective customers a yearly fee
  • To train and guide colleagues who deal with securities
  • Maintain the Diary System
  • Normal courtesy & effectiveness to communicate with Branches, Divisions, Attorneys and Clients
  • Planning, organizing and controlling workflow on a daily basis
  • Understanding Legal Framework on Securities
  • Order and monitor stationery for the department usage
  • Prepare for monthly meetings and minutes
  • File all securities received in the strong room
  • Control set of strong room keys
  • Control strong room combination
