The Global Business Roundtable (GBR) was established on 21st August 2009. It started as a discussion forum as well as a support, networking and prayer group for people in business and various intellectual professions.

The GBR is a global business networking initiative which was prompted by a desire to start a prayer meeting group for people in business as well as to provide support for professionals in their various fields. The organisation is founded on Biblical principles and is inspired by God throughout the various initiatives it undertakes.

This global business networking initiative has experienced the great move of God and has seen an unprecedented exponential growth. The GBR now has thousands of members spread across several countries including The United States of America (USA), Spain, Thailand, Germany, Ghana, Swaziland, Lesotho, Sweden, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Mozambique, Nigeria, The Caribbean Islands, which make up 73 nations in total.

Based in Johannesburg, Gauteng – Global Business Roundtable (GBR) seeks to appoint an

SECTOR MANAGER – INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT

This position reports to the Multi-Sector Programme Director and its primary function is to develop a good governance and leadership development training framework that can be used to deliver quality programs that inculcate a culture of transparency, accountability and sound management styles in future leaders in business, government and civil society. Developing far-sighted leaders that can think and compete globally in a rapidly changing world is one of the key components of this position, whilst effectively transforming ideas into reality through collaboration with the other strategic structures within GBR and its sister organisation The Global Fund for Jesus (GFFJ), universities and colleges, local and national government agencies, civil society, and business organisations is another critical element. The best-suited candidate will be creative, enterprising, resourceful, and equipped to lead GBR’s fledgling programs that cover Intellectual Development. A Christian with a strong commitment to peace, equality and transformation coupled with the ability to develop and deliver tailor-made seminars, training programs and scholastic material, through traditional teaching and learning, as well as on-line delivery methods is necessary for this position.

Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Development of learning material; learning facilitation; planning and organising; training needs analysis; project management; presentation skills; budgeting and financial management, administration, and people management.
To plan, coordinate and deliver learning and development activities, with a key focus on E-Learning to meet current and future organisational needs in line with the strategic plan, group learning and development framework whilst adhering to country specific skills development agendas.
To develop funding proposals, design operating plans, coordinate and consolidate learning and development needs in the different regions and individual countries.
To develop and implement an annual learning and development calendar in line with budget and outreach targets whilst building organisational capability.
To ensure delivery of development interventions in line with quality standards to achieve learning outcomes and business objectives.
To monitor and evaluate learning and development interventions and delivery to ensure positive business and learner impact as well as continuous improvement.
To ensure coordination, completion, and submission of funding objectives in line with business and donor requirements and to optimize skills development initiatives.
To ensure compliance to group policies, quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements.
To manage resources to deliver the operating plan and business needs.

The Sector Manager – Intellectual Development must meet the following criteria:
A sincere faith in God and a commitment to Christian faith and service, including knowledge of scripture and an understanding of the Bible’s great themes.
Degree/Honours Degree in Education, Psychology, Human Resources, Learning and Development Management or related field.
CIPD Certification or similar Professional qualification in Higher Education & Training
Knowledge of learning theories and Instructional Design models
7-10 years Learning & Development generalist experience while managing cross-functional teams and multi-disciplinary projects.
Experience in organisational development and change
Experience Integrating principles of teaching and learning to guide the development of highly engaging and effective online module.
Must be able to provide consultation and support in the theoretical and practical approaches to the use of technology in education.
