The Jonsson Manufacturing team is responsible for bringing our garments to life by consistently producing high quality product in order to serve our customers brilliantly. Jonsson Manufacturing is based in Lesotho and manufactures most of the Jonsson Workwear apparel products across 7 factories, a centralised Cutting Room, Customisation Facilities and an Industrial Laundry.
This role primarily involves close collaboration with the product team to develop and produce quality prints, whilst ensuring our automatic printing machines’ capabilities meet the necessary demands and turnaround times.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Analysing and understanding project specifications and customers’ needs before starting each screen print project.
- Ability to work with and adjust designs.
- Developing strike-offs, screens, mesh, exposing and colour mixing recipes to meet customer requirements.
- Stock and manage all raw materials required for printing
- Ability to adjust printing recipes to accommodate for fabric variations.
- Technically overseeing all print production and performing quality checks throughout the printing process. Ensuring that the correct ink colours are mixed prior to bulk production.
- Supports the production team to ensure delivery of high-quality screen printing that meets delivery times, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Implementing bulk production quality control measures.
- Receiving and examining work projects to determine printing lead times as well as ink and raw material requirements.
- Installing and repositioning screen-printing plates and pressure rollers.
- Calibrating printers before each batch is printed.
- Looking after the screen print machines and conducting basic maintenance to ensure the machines are in good working order and run smoothly.
The experience we’re looking for:
- Proven work experience and in-depth knowledge of screen printing.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- High level of creative and artistic skill.
- Prepared to work with ink and chemicals daily.
- Is fluent in spoken and written English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel skills.
- Own reliable transport.
- Valid passport.
