About the Position
Providere Academy, incorporating Annabelle Pre-School, is inviting applications from qualified and registered nursing professionals for the position of School Nurse for the 2027 academic year.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing basic healthcare, first aid, and emergency support to learners and staff. The role also involves maintaining confidential medical records, promoting hygiene and infection prevention, ensuring medication safety, and working closely with parents, healthcare providers, and school management to support learner wellbeing.
Minimum Requirements
- A recognised nursing qualification, such as a Diploma or Degree in Nursing.
- Current registration or a practising licence with the relevant nursing authority in Lesotho.
- Experience in paediatric, school, or community healthcare will be an advantage.
- Current first-aid and basic life-support training will be an advantage.
- Ability to provide basic healthcare, first aid, and emergency response to learners and staff.
- Ability to maintain confidential medical records.
- Knowledge of infection prevention, hygiene, medication safety, and child health.
- Good communication skills and the ability to liaise professionally with parents, healthcare providers, and school management.
- A caring, responsible, and child-centred approach.
- Understanding of child safeguarding and medical confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic healthcare, first aid, and emergency response to learners and staff.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
- Promote infection prevention, hygiene, and medication safety.
- Monitor learner health concerns and respond appropriately.
- Liaise with parents, healthcare providers, and school management regarding health-related matters.
- Support child safeguarding and maintain professional medical confidentiality.
- Promote a safe and healthy school environment.
