SARWatch seeks to appoint a Finance and Admin Intern to be based in Johannesburg.
SARWatch is offering an internship opportunity for 12 months.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
- Source supplier quotations and prepare purchase requisitions and purchase orders
- Process supplier invoices prepare payments and supplier reconciliations for submission to Snr Finance and Admin Officer
- Handle and resolve supplier queries
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist the Snr Finance and Admin Officer with the preparation of budgets and forecast reports
Accounting
- Process all transactions on the Accounting System
- Prepare bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Assist with Audit preparations
- Assist with preparation of statutory returns
Fixed Assets
- Update the Fixed Asset Register (FAR) with new acquisitions and ensure that the assets are insured
- Perform periodic asset counts
- Reconcile fixed asset ledger
Administration
- Assist with administrative tasks, working closely with the finance and admin office
- Provide ad hoc assistance to the general work of SARWatch, as and when required
- Other administration duties including general administration, scanning and filing activities
Requirements:
- A degree or diploma in or related to Accounting, Finance
- Knowledge of Microsoft office
- Time-management and organisational skills
- High level of accuracy
- Ability to learn a new system quickly and accurately
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- South African Citizen
- Clear criminal record
