Our Sales team support our customers by providing clinical information about products, educational information, clinical training programs and resources. We support healthcare providers and healthcare systems meet the goals of the patients in their communities.

We are urgently looking for an experienced (preferably), innovative and dynamic Sale and Business Development Manager for Ruminants and Companion Animals (Rums & CA) to join the Sub- Saharan Africa Team (SSA) to:

  • Manage and co-ordinate sales activities of business portfolios active in Southern African Development Community (SADC), excluding Namibia and Angola, markets (Livestock OTC, Dairy, Feedlot, CA OTC, and Veterinary Ethical).
  • Look for new business, help maintain existing business and facilitate synergy between the business units.
  • Key Account Management.
  • Lead vibrant SSA-SADC team


The
Sales and Business Development Manager – Rums & CA: SADC is responsible for the following:

  • Manage and develop sales strategies of Ruminants and Companion Animals products in the SADC Regions.

    • Achieve sales as per target set for the SADC markets
  • Grow new businesses in existing and new markets and maintain and expand our company’s market share and market penetration.
  • Look for new business opportunities and expand market share and market penetration with existing and new products.
  • Key Account Management of the region

    • Create strategies with regards to priority clients and budgets.
    • Regular liaison with top clients and wholesalers.
  • Co-ordinate and drive sales campaigns.
  • Co-ordinate technical- and product support to clients.
  • Co-ordinate handling of product complaints and adverse reactions.
  • Attend African, national- and international congresses/conferences for information gathering with relevance to company business, when required.
  • Maintain desired margins on products sold.
  • Maintain close contact with suppliers for continued product support and new developments.
  • Manage promotional budget within budget limits to the best effect for sales support.
  • Develop the sales forecast and strategy for the areas in line with the business potential of the area.
  • Implement marketing strategies in order to achieve sales objectives for the area.
  • Control expenses in areas within budget limits in order to maximise profitability for the Company.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance on a routine basis and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Implement marketing plans for new products with Product Managers.
  • Co-ordinate new product registrations and launches.
  • Identify areas where sales people/agents need training to strengthen their product knowledge to support their sales functions.
  • Summarise market information and activities of competitors provided by the sales force and report timeously to the Business Unit Manager.
  • Employee development: Upskilling direct reports with up to date customer service training programs, focusing on customer centricity
  • People management including hire and train of new and existing sales force.
