Position Overview:
The Sales Consultant has responsibility for the ongoing support and proactive development of new business requests (NBR) for a large, global, existing contracted client. This role will serve as a key leader and technical liaison in maturing and progressing complex solutions/services for the client, understanding the complete technical and operational solution, cultivating new initiatives via a consultative approach and ensuring long term customer satisfaction and growth requirements are met at all times. This is a unique and challenging role as the selected candidate will be utilizing their capabilities in Consultation, Solutions design and Sales in a single function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consults daily with clients and conducts needs analysis proactively to support current and future business requirements (client-facing role)
  • Consults and contributes with the various BU’s, GTM, Finance and Delivery Teams for client assessment, business analysis, P&L overview and service delivery recommendations as needed
  • Act as solution expert to clients and client managers for assigned solution set or line of business
  • Makes Go/No Go recommendations Solutions and Delivery team leads
  • Responsible for executive presentations both internally and client facing
  • Responsible for the construct of the solution, as well as the closure of sale for all new business requests and will create presentations and or BOMs as necessary
  • Implement the Solution Development Framework and practices; engages and manages the determined internal teams and 3rd Party resources needed to design, assemble, and implement the Complex Service/Solution in partnership with the Service Delivery Executive
  • Assures technical competency and completeness of material presented to client; will also secure the Commitment to Deliver by internal line of businesses and related organizations
  • Assists management teams in assessment of additional requirements to support client satisfaction
  • Engage clients at a detailed level to gain an understanding of the business issues and objectives driving the client’s needs
  • Lead daily/weekly review calls with client to track progress and ensure timely outcomes
  • Collaboration with regional and global personnel as necessary
  • Support business metrics for success that include revenue growth, profitability, performance metrics and customer satisfaction

Work Experience Required:

  • 10+ years-experience in the IT industry with Enterprise Technology (network, communications, data center/virtualization, Unified Communications, enterprise mobility and managed services)
  • Proven track record of in-depth technical experience within Outsourced infrastructure and/or managed network technology solutions and services
  • Track record of consultative selling and wider solution design; competency and business acumen to assess and qualify opportunities
  • Proven delivery of complex pragmatic solutions design within industry


Education/Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred
  • Degree/coursework in finance and financial analysis recommended
