Business Development & Job Creation Facilitator in Philippi ECD Centres Closing Date: 31 October 2019

Business Development Facilitator (BDF) The BDF will be responsible for facilitating Business Development and Job Creation at 12 Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centres in Philippi, Cape Town. Key
Responsibilities:
- Developing an effective and efficient business model for township ECD Centres
- Consultation with stakeholders prior to selection of ECD Centres as beneficiaries of the project
- Capacity building of selected ECD Principals and ECD Board members through training for sustainable institutions i.e. governance, financial management and human resources
- Facilitate training in business skills, financial sustainability and fundraising for ECD Centres
- Monitoring implementation of training
- Planning and leading each initiative and working within an implementation plan
- Business mentoring and coaching of ECD Principals and Board members
- Working towards ECD centre registration with Department of Social Development registration, and compliance with their norms and standards
- Managing community expectations and constant engagement with ECD forums as required
- Supervision and mentoring of ECD assistants for job readiness
- Working closely with the ECD Programme Manager
- Preparing regular reports
Requirements:
- B degree in Social Science / Development Studies/Business Administration or equivalent qualification
- Diploma/certificate in Project Management
- Total of 3-5 years management experience in ECD environment
- Proven track record in similar organization an added advantage
- Knowledge of ECD landscape i.e. relevant policies and procedures
- Preferable experience with ECD centres, service providers and community processes in Philippi
- Code B drivers’ license
- Fluent in English and isiXhosa
- Excellent Communication (written and spoken)
- Strategic, Influencing, Negotiating and Presentation skills
