Risk and Safety Intern – Forestry (VCC – PMB) 1 ( 85 and 86 for temps )
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide the incumbent with the necessary skills and specific competencies and assist in executing related functions to the risk and safety across the designated region
REPORTING TO: AREA RISK MANAGER – KZN
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with incident investigations
- Conduct monthly safety inspections
- Conduct risk assessments
- Infield training with Contractors and/or employees
- Developing toolbox talks
- Assisting and guiding contractors on the Sappi Health and Safety Management System (HSMS)
- Data capturing
- Minute taking at Health & Safety committee meetings

- Planning and Organising
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12/Matric qualification
- National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree qualification in a relevant Health and Safety discipline is essential
- No experience required
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
