Project Title
City Beautification Initiative – Supply and Delivery of Lawn Grass
Background
The Maseru City Council has received funds from the Government of Lesotho for city beautification initiatives. As part of this project, MCC intends to procure lawn grass for the landscaping and beautification of public areas.
Description of Goods Required
The MCC requires the supply, delivery, and off-loading of mature, high-strength lawn grass (turf/sod) suitable for high-traffic public areas.
Total Quantity
600 square metres
Format
The grass must be supplied in standard rolls. The exact dimensions of a standard roll must be specified by the bidder in their quotation.
Quality
The grass must be mature, densely grown, healthy, free from pests and diseases, and capable of immediate establishment upon installation.
Preference
In line with supporting local enterprises, preference will be given to quotations from Basotho-owned farms and businesses.
Quotation Submission
Duly completed quotations must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked:
“QUOTATION FOR LAWN GRASS – RFQ MCC/Beaut/2025/001 – DO NOT OPEN BEFORE 24/12/2025”

Quotation Validity
Quotations must remain valid for a period of thirty (30) days from the closing date of 24 December 2025.
Deadline for Submission
Quotations must be received at the above address no later than 12h00 noon on Wednesday, 24 December 2025. Quotations received after this deadline will be rejected.
Required Quotation Format
Interested suppliers must provide the following information in their submission:
- Company or farm profile and proof of Basotho ownership/registration
- Detailed description of the grass type/variety (e.g. Kikuyu, Buffalo) and its suitability for high-traffic areas
- Unit price per standard roll and total price for 600 square metres
- Breakdown of all costs, including delivery and off-loading to a specified site in Maseru (site to be advised)
- Proposed delivery schedule
- Tax Compliance Certificate (copy)
- Contact details (phone number, email address, and physical address)
Evaluation and Award
Quotations will be evaluated based on:
- Compliance with technical specifications
- Price
- Proven ability to supply quality mature grass
- Preference for Basotho-owned entities
The MCC is not bound to accept the lowest quotation and reserves the right to accept any part of a quotation.
