RFP to Conduct a Comprehensive HIV Modes of Transmission Study at NAC

The National AIDS Commission (NAC)-Lesotho, with financial support from the Global Fund through the Ministry of Finance-PMU seeks to engage both an International and a Local Consultant to conduct a comprehensive HIV Modes of Transmission Study. The purpose of this epidemic, response, and policy synthesis study (MOT Study) is to provide an overall analysis of the HIV epidemic and response in Lesotho. This study will draw together, triangulate, and reconcile various and different data sources, ultimately making recommendations to enhance the HIV response and work towards ending AIDS by 2030.

Experience and Qualifications for the International Consultant

  1. Advanced Degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in epidemiology, public health, or a related field.
  2. A strong background in epidemiology and a proven track record of conducting research related to HIV/AIDS.
  3. Previous experience in designing and conducting modes of transmission studies or similar research projects is highly desirable.
  4. In-depth knowledge of the HIV&AIDS epidemic, its dynamics, and the factors influencing transmission patterns, especially in Lesotho or similar settings
  5. Proficiency in statistical analysis and modeling techniques relevant to HIV epidemiology including but not limited to Incident Pattern Models.
  6. Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive literature reviews and synthesize existing research and documentation related to HIV transmission modes.
  7. Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports in English.

Experience and Qualification for the Local Consultant

  1. A postgraduate degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field.
  2. Demonstrated experience in supporting research and studies related to HIV transmission.
  3. Strong analytical and research skills.
  4. Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  5. Familiarity with the local context and language is an advantage.
