Overview:
The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho (BCMCFL), is the result of a public-private partnership between Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI) and the Government of Lesotho, and is a legal, non-profit/tax exempt organization registered in Lesotho. BCMCFL provides free paediatric and family-centred HIV and tuberculosis prevention, care, treatment, and support, serving thousands of children and families affected by HIV, TB, or other child health conditions.
Lesotho/Local Entities Advancing and Driving Health Responses (LEADR) is a proposed multi-year project funded by USAID intended to provide effective decentralized, differentiated, and integrated facility and community services to maximize equitable access to comprehensive HIV, TB, and COVID 19 interventions through a primary health care approach to ensure that clients have access to holistic services. Its goal is to support the Government of Lesotho to deliver high-quality integrated prevention, care and treatment services that will sustain the reduction in HIV, TB, and COVID-19 transmission, morbidity, and mortality in Lesotho through the implementation of a comprehensive, person-centered approach. If awarded to BCMCFL, the project will be implemented in Butha Buthe and Mokhotlong districts and at the BCMCFL Maseru Centre of Excellence (COE) and Mohale’s Hoek Satellite Center of Excellence (SCOE).
BCMCFL is looking for highly qualified candidates to fill in the following position on a full-time, Fixed-Term Contract basis.

Retention Services Advisor x 1

Duties and Responsibilities
Position Overview:
The Retention Services Advisor will be responsible for the technical oversight and provision of oversight of implementation activities towards retention in care or continuity on treatment. Reporting directly to the Senior Technical Advisor, s/he will work closely with the care & treatment advisor, comprehensive prevention services advisor, health systems strengthening advisor, to support the implementation and monitoring of community-based activities, including the administration of psychosocial support groups, peer based initiatives including demand creation, adherence, and continuity in care, to ensure viral load suppression.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Provide technical oversight of the retention activities of the project including work plan development.
• Report on continuity on treatment strategies for children, adolescents, adults, pregnant & breastfeeding women, men, key populations.
• Oversee all continuity on treatment activities in collaboration with other projects leads.
• Train and mentor project staff, partners and sub-recipients involved in the provision of retention activities.
• Design and support referral and linkage pathways between and within partners to complement and build upon prior service delivery areas.
• Liaise with supported DHMTs, Government ministries and multi-lateral stakeholders on the development of a strong comprehensive national response towards supporting retention, including differentiated service delivery models for stable patients.
• Support the Program Director in providing technical direction to project implementation and ensure that retention results are achieved.
• Provide technical assistance and support to BCMCFL’s Sub Grantees and the MOH on development of strong facility community linkages, including establishment and maintenance of psychosocial support groups such as Community ART Groups.
• Develop training materials, job aides and SOPs towards retention and participate in the training of relevant staff.
• Support, mentor and provide site supportive supervision to clinical, prevention and M&E personnel on retention activities.
• Perform other duties that are assigned by the administration.
Educational Qualifications, Work Experience and Key Competencies
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Public Health, Social Work, Nursing, Medicine or related discipline; Master’s Degree is an added advantage;
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing IV, TB and COVID-19 care and treatment services of similar scope and size.
• Demonstrated experience in the implementation and managing of retention in HIV and TB care services, with experience in Lesotho highly desirable.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with donor programming, including HIV, TB and COVID-19, care and treatment services will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with Lesotho’s institutional, policy and programming context for HIV, TB, and COVID-19
