Resource Mobilization Officer at Caritas Lesotho

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions of Resource Mobilization Officer for the IDCS Project at Caritas Lesotho. The contract for this position is initially for a period of twelve months with possibility of extension depending on satisfactory performance.

Specific duties

  • Conducts mapping and analysis to identify potential donors in line with Caritas Lesotho mission and values.
  • Identifies and implements practical strategies for donor engagement.
  • Develops a comprehensive resource mobilization strategy for Caritas Lesotho
  • Produces Resource Mobilization Plans and Reports as per stipulated periods and requirements.
  • Drafts appealing proposals and concepts to diverse sources, including development partners, corporate, academia, policy makers, philanthropists, and foundations.
  • Develops and Strengthen Partnerships for joint proposal writing with credible organizations in the country.
  • Organizes resource mobilization events.
  • Analyses the effectiveness of the implemented resource mobilization approaches.
  • Builds staff capacity on resource mobilization including development of tools and skills to capacitate staff on resource mobilization.

Academic and personal credentials

  • Postgraduate degree in Business Development and/or Management, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing fund-raising and institutional resource mobilization strategies, understanding of the development sector and grants management. A proven track record of fundraising from major donors, corporate and foundations.
  • Proven skills in developing and writing successful funding proposals.
  • Strong team building and human relations skills.
  • Results orientated and able to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision, under extreme pressure and tight timeframes.
  • Good knowledge of the Catholic Church Structures and ethos
  • Energetic and confident presenter who can engage people and get them to commit funding/and or to partnering with Caritas Lesotho.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills
