Position Overview

Climate Rights International (CRI) is seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of Researcher. CRI wants to build a world that protects people and the planet from climate change. We believe that progress on climate change cannot succeed without protecting the human rights of present and future generations – and the fight for human rights cannot succeed without protecting our planet against climate change.

To achieve this, we work in partnership with local and international groups to document how human rights violations contribute to climate change, and how climate change contributes to human rights abuses. We press governments and corporations to take urgent action to end abuses, limit greenhouse gas emissions, and protect vital carbon sinks. We insist on progressive interpretation of existing law to advance obligations to protect human rights in relation to climate change, and we work with partners to further develop international legally binding standards and accountability mechanisms. We partner with activists and affected communities to demand justice, accountability, and reparations from powerful interests that put their lives and their children’s lives at risk.
