RESEARCH DATA MANAGER / ANALYST FIVE (5) YEAR FIXED-TERM CONTRACT EAST LONDON, EASTERN CAPE PROVINCE

The Desmond Tutu Health Foundation (DTHF) is a registered non-profit organisation focused on the pursuit of excellence in research, treatment, training and prevention of HIV and related infections in Southern Africa.
The main purpose of this position is to manage data collection activities and services against set deliverables, study milestones and in line with the study protocol. The Data Manager will: 1) oversee the development and actioning of core data collection tools and platforms, 2) implement data quality assurance systems, and 3) provide study-monitoring reports on implementation indicators and descriptive analysis of study data. The Data Manager will further be responsible for building up and overseeing data team staff in support of DTHF projects in Eastern Cape.

Minimum Requirements:
Matric with a Tertiary Qualification, Master’s degree that focuses on Epidemiology, Biostatistics/Statistics, or other quantitative field
At least 3 year’s demonstrable experience building and managing complex data collection tools using Redcap (please detail in cover letter)
At least 3 years’ experience managing and analysing public health research data
At least 2 years staff management experience
At least 2 years demonstrable experience implementing and monitoring field-based data collection activities for public health research studies
Experience in the use of data analysis packages (e.g., STATA, SPSS, SAS or R) for Data Analysis
Experience in the development of back-end database systems including SQL, Oracle and MariaDB
Knowledge of research documentation standards
