RESEARCH ASSISTANT – MistraL Project Butha-Buthe

We are looking for a motivated person eager to gain experience in health-related qualitative research, a hands-on individual to support in organising, conducting, analysing and writing the qualitative COVID-19 research in this project. This includes administrative and scientific tasks. The Research Assistant will work in collaboration with the DHMT, Health Facilities in Butha-Buthe, MistraL partners and Stakeholders.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Qualitative Research Advisor/Consultant in administrative tasks
  • Assist the Qualitative Research Advisor/Consultant in scientific tasks
  • Assist the MistraL Outreach Project Outreach Nurse in community mobilization and sensitization and village health worker trainings

 Skills and Required Competencies:

  • No specific experience required, however must have basic knowledge in research, and some/any experience in writing (e.g. published scientific research or published fictional storytelling)
  • Have an excellent oral and writing skills in English and Sesotho
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills and fluency in written and spoken Sesotho and English
  • Any published scientific research and fictional storytelling will be a major advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a team, able to pay attention to detail and to work in a multi-national team

Qualifications – Minimum Diploma in Social Sciences, Psychology or Pastoral Care and Counselling.
