Request for Expression of Interest to Serve In the Higher Education Quality Assurance Committee (HEQAC) – CHE

Council on Higher Education (CHE) in Lesotho invites suitably qualified professionals to express interest to serve in the Higher Education Quality Assurance Committee (HEQAC).
Section 13 (2) (g) of the Higher Education Act, 2004, provides for CHE to appoint five (5) HEQAC members. The term of office for the current HEQAC will be coming to an end soon and Council wishes to replace some of the members. In accordance with Section 5(3) of the Higher Education Act, 2004, the terms of reference for HEQAC include to:

   Promote quality assurance across higher education institutions

   Audit internal quality assurance mechanisms and systems of higher education institutions

   Accredit higher education programmes and issue certificates of accreditation
   Monitor and evaluate the performance of higher education programmes
   Monitor and evaluate the performance of higher education institutions

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants are likely to be invited to serve in HEQAC if they have the following attributes:
        A minimum of a Master’s Degree coupled with relevant work experience;

   Expertise and experience in working in either a higher education institution or in a regulatory environment;

   Knowledge about quality assurance, use of standards, development of quality assurance mechanisms, systems and tools;

   Broad experience in working in the higher education sub-sector both as an instructor and an administrator;

   Good communication skills in speaking and writing.
