Position Title: Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) Program Mentor
Reports To: RMNCAH Program Lead Mentor
Location: Nohana, Bobete, and Lebakeng Health Centers

ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE
Partners In Health (PIH) is an international non-profit health organization committed to improving the health of poor and marginalized communities. In Lesotho, PIH partners with the Ministry of Health to build clinical capacity and deliver high-quality healthcare. PIH also collaborates with Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the University of California, San Francisco’s Global Action in Nursing (GAIN) program.
The GAIN program focuses on:
- Expanding the nursing workforce
- Implementing an educational career ladder for nurses
- Creating a cadre of in-country nurse leaders
POSITION OVERVIEW
The RMNCAH Program Mentor will support the implementation of RMNCAH strategies at PIH-LS-GAIN facilities (Lebakeng, Nohana, Bobete, and Paray Hospital). The mentor will provide technical assistance, mentorship, and guidance to healthcare professionals to improve maternal, neonatal, and child health outcomes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Clinical Mentorship
- Provide direct client-centered reproductive health and clinical care
- Mentor nurses, midwives, and healthcare workers
- Monitor clinical practices and encourage adherence to guidelines
- Support junior staff during antenatal care, labor, postnatal care, and immunizations
- Demonstrate procedures and conduct simulation exercises
2. Quality Improvement
- Monitor service delivery metrics
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop interventions
- Promote infection control and respectful maternity care
- Collaborate on quality improvement projects
3. Communication and Feedback
- Foster teamwork and coaching
- Act as liaison between healthcare workers and lead mentor
- Facilitate communication with referral facilities
- Advocate for comprehensive patient care
4. Documentation and Reporting
- Coordinate monthly facility meetings
- Document mentoring sessions and performance gaps
- Support data collection and reporting
- Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
COMPETENCIES
- Experience in global health delivery in developing countries
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of local language is an advantage
- Ethical and respectful conduct

- Willingness to relocate to rural facilities
- Experience in data verification and reporting
- Commitment to social justice
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery (Bachelor’s Degree is an added advantage)
- Valid clinical license and registration
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience
- Familiarity with WHO and national RMNCAH protocols
