Disability Representative on the Board MCA Board
The Millennium Challenge Account – Lesotho II (MCA-Lesotho II) is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion across all its governance structures. In line with this commitment, the MCA Board of Directors invites qualified individuals with disabilities to express their interest in serving as a Board Member, representing the interests and voices of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Lesotho.
Background
The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC)’s second compact with the Government of Lesotho aims to:
- Improve access to quality healthcare
- Create equitable business development manager opportunities
- Promote high-value crop production
- Boost profits and formal employment for women and youth-owned enterprises
- Enhance legal protections related to land tenure
- Provide skills and business development opportunities
The compact is structured around 3 projects aimed at tackling constraints to economic growth through improved private sector participation and strengthened public sector capacity and coordination.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The selected board member will:
• Advocate for the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities
• Provide strategic input into MCA’s policies, programs and governance
• Ensure disability perspectives are reflected in all decision-making processes
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must:
✔️ Be a person with disability (PWD)
✔️ Be a citizen of Lesotho
✔️ Demonstrate at least five years of active commitment to disability rights, advocacy, or social justice
✔️ Have a clear understanding of government policy on disability issues
✔️ Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
✔️ Have relevant experience in leadership, policy advocacy or disability inclusion

- Certified copies of academic and professional qualifications
