Mohale FM, Lesotho’s first ever truly independent News and current affairs radio station with no connections to any sectoral interests or political parties, is due for launch on or before 01 June 2022. The station would thus wish to recruit for the following key vacancies:
REPORTERS AND PRESENTERS
- Their main tasks will include presenting, hosting radio programs such as talk shows, news bulletins or programs relating to specific content or communities
- Research and prepare for programs, talk to listeners, play entertainment items, interview guests, and provide public information
- Generally act a scriptwriter, announcers, and interviewers
- Interview special guests as well as act as moderators for discussions
- Host charitable events and other public functions
- Work on the control board and keep accurate logs
- Attend conferences and conduct interviews to present up-to-date and accurate information to listeners
- Coordinate with producers to develop program material while taking into consideration the type of shows created and requested from the audience
- Good speaking skills and a likable persona are important, as well as extensive knowledge of current affairs
Mohale FM is an equal opportunity employer and is looking for experienced competent and hardworking candidates to fill these posts. A minimum of 5 years experience and relevant education in media, communications or broadcasting (preferably at degree level) is required for the Station Manager’s post while 3 years experience and the relevant Diploma or Degree in media or related subjects will suffice for the other posts.
