External Audit Services

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Southern African Regional Climate Information Services for Disaster Resilience Development (SARCIS-DR) Project, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for External Audit Services for the Project’s Financial Statements of FY2018/2019 (from 1st April 2018 to 31st March 2019) and Project’s Financial Statements of FY2019/2020 (from 1st April 2019 to 29th February 2020).

The services included under this project are External Audit Consulting Services for the SARCIS-DR project implementation period 1st April 2018 to 29th February 20120

The objective of the external audit of the Project financial statements (PFSs) is to enable the auditors to express an independent professional opinion on the financial position of the Project as at 31st March 2019andas at29th February 2020; and to ensure that the funds granted to the Project have been used for their intended purposes.

The project books of accounts provide the basis for preparation of the PFSs by the Project Implementing Unit and are established to reflect the financial transactions in respect of the project. The PIU maintains adequate internal controls and supporting documentation for transactions.

The SADC Secretariat now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s Procurement Framework, dated October 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by Thursday 18th July 2019 at 15h00 hours Botswana time and mention External Audit Services for the SARCIS-DR Project Financial statements.
