Department of Water (Rural Water Supply)
The Government of Lesotho through the Ministry of Natural Resources, supported by UNICEF hereby invites tenders from suitable companies interested in contracting their services for rehabilitation and maintenance of water supply systems in Qacha’s Nek and Thaba tseka districts of Lesotho.
Work Description
The Title of the tender is: Rehabilitation of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Projects 2023-2024. Tender No: R-23-GOL-1. This tender will require the contractor to maintain water supply systems in the two districts of Lesotho. Additional information and requirements are as specified in the Tender Documents.
Bidder Qualifications
To tender for the proposed contract, bidders must be in Department of Rural Water Supply (DRWS) category A & B and registered companies in Lesotho. Bid security of M10, 000.00 in a form of bank cheque or bank guarantee valid for one hundred and twenty (120) days will be required.
Tender Issuance
The tender documents will be available from the 2 October 2023 to 7 November 2023, at DRWS Head Office Maseru at a non-refundable cost of M2, 000.00 per document, paid to accounts office. The method of payment is cash. Bidders must produce the receipt obtained from accounts to procurement Unit at the DRWS in order to receive the softcopy of the Tender document through their email addresses. Interested companies may review the documents before purchase at DRWS Procurement Unit.
Tender Submission
The closing date for the submission of this tender is on the 13 November, 2023 at 10.00 am. Bid documents must be deposited to the Ministry of Natural Resources, Department of Water Tender Box situated at the entrance of RWS Office Khubetsoana, Resource Centre, Next to Appropriate Technology Services (ATS) on or before the closing date and time in sealed envelope clearly Marked “Tender for, Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Rural Water Supply and sanitation Projects, 2023-2024.”
All bidders are advised that Contractors and Suppliers to Lesotho Government are expected to be in compliance with their tax obligations.
Tender Opening
Bids will be opened on the 13 November, 2021 at 10:30am in the presence of bidders or their representatives who wish to attend at the following address: DRWS Office Khubetsoana, Resource Centre, Next to Appropriate Technology Services (ATS),
Pre-tender meeting and Site visits
A pre-tender meeting shall be held on the 16 October, 2023 at the DRWS Resources Centre, Khubetsoana at 9.00am
Site visits are compulsory and will on the 17 and 18 October 2023 in Thaba Tseka and 19 October 2023 in Qacha’s Nek. The details of these site visits will in be the Tender Documents.
