Applications are invited from suitably qualified local candidates for the following vacant positions tenable at the Judiciary:
JOB TITLE: Registrar’s Clerk
RESPONSIBLE TO: Assistant Registrar
TENABLE AT: High Court
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Registrar, the incumbent is responsible for the management of case records.
MAIN DUTIES
1. To Manage Records
1.1 Classifies cases
1.2 Opens files and registers cases
1.3 Keeps records and archives safely
1.4 Makes monthly returns
1.5 Monitors movement of files
1.6 Prepares court roll
2. To Monitor Compliance with the High Court Rules
2.1 Scrutinizes court processes
2.2 Categorizes court processes
JOB SPECIFICATION
- Certificate in Local Law with at least two (2) years’ working experience as Senior Clerk of Court
OR - Certificate in Local Law with at least four (4) years’ working experience as Clerk of Court
OR - COSC or equivalent plus six (6) years’ experience as Clerk of Court
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Knowledge and experience of law
- Interpersonal skills

- Analytical and problem-solving skills
RESPONSIBILITY
For work of others: Minimal
For property: Minimal
For effect of errors: The incumbent is responsible for all errors committed in the execution of his/her duties.

Problem solving:
The incumbent must be capable of decisively dealing with problems arising from his/her office and clients.
Supervision received:
The incumbent is expected to report to the Assistant Registrar.

Hazards:
- Likelihood of attack by dissatisfied individuals
- Sometimes must work awkward hours
