JOB SUMMARY

UNDER THE GENERAL SUPERVISION OF THE PRINCIPAL, THE REGISTRAR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF INSTITUTIONAL RECORDS; STANDARDIZATION OF ADMISSIONS AND CERTIFICATION; PROMOTION OF CONDUCIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT; COORDINATION OF INSTITUTIONAL FACILITIES; PREPARATION AND MANAGEMENT OF BUDGET AND SUPERVISION AND DEVELOPMENT OF STAFF.

MAIN DUTIES

  1. DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF STUDENTS’ RECORDS
  • STANDARDIZATION OF ADMISSIONS AND CERTIFICATION
    • Shortlists the suitable applicants for final selection annually.
    • Participates in the setting of rules and standards for admission and certification to ensure adherence to academic standards.
    • Makes arrangements for orientation programme to familiarize students with institutional set-up.
    • Coordinates the processing of the issue of certificates/diplomas for graduating students to ensure that all graduating students shall receive them during graduation ceremony.
  • PROMOTION OF CONDUCIVE LEARNING AND ADMINISTRATIVE ENVIRONMENT

 3.1 Serves as the ex-officio member of the College’s students’ disciplinary    committee to facilitate institutionalisation of disciplinary actions.

 3.2 Facilitates students where rehabilitation/redemption is possible to maximize on their ability to cope with their studies.

 3.3 Disseminates information on current institutional affairs (administrative/academic) to both staff and students to ensure smooth running of student welfare-related matters.

  • Participates in the arrangement of College trips to ensure students’ safety and health during educational and sporting tours.
    • Liaises with other academic and administrative departments to ensure smooth coordination of student affairs activities.
    • Facilitates that SRC runs its affairs within the framework of the regulations of the College in order to avoid conflict.
    • Takes and distributes minutes in several institution committee meetings to promote smooth running of the institution.
  • COORDINATION OF INSTITUTIONAL FACILITIES

 4.1 Collaborates with sports committee for use of halls and grounds by students and external users in order to secure funds for institution.

  • PREPARATION AND MANAGEMENT OF BUDGET

 5.1 Collaborates with the staff of students’ welfare section to prepare and submit the budget to the Principal.

 5.2 Approves all the requisitions related to students to run the section cost-effectively and within the budget.

  • SUPERVISION AND DEVELOPMENT OF STAFF

 6.1 Liaises with heads of programmes to identify training needs of staff in order to develop training plan

6.2 Assesses the progress of supervisees in line with Performance Management System (PMS).

6.3 Liaises with programme coordinators to fast-track the implementation of the training plan.

JOB SPECIFICATION

  • Master’s Degree in Public Administration / Human Resource Management (HRM) /Educational Management.   

                              OR

Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration / Human Resource Management (HRM) / Educational Management.  PLUS    Three (3) years’ experience working as part of senior Management.

Teaching and/or counseling certificate would be an added advantage.
