About the role

You will provide critical programmatic support to our country teams across Africa. You will manage business development in remote African countries and lead on program implementation on remote-country and/or multi-country projects, coordinating across Viamo teams and delighting our partners. Finally, you will support Viamo’s growth through the recruitment and onboarding of new program team members.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Regional business development, handling inbound leads and proactively prospecting where Viamo doesn’t have a Country Manager
  2. Program implementation, managing projects that you have signed and/or projects that have been handed to you by our central Partnerships Team.
  3. Recruitment /onboarding support for new Program team members

Key Performance Indicators

  1. Full ownership of Viamo’s regional KPIs:
    1. Impact: Number of listeners and engagements
    2. Bookings: Margin on secured partnerships
    3. Delivery: Execution and invoicing of projects
  2. # Team members successfully onboarded (as measured by feedback gathered on the onboarding process)

Team and Reporting Structure

  • Reports to Regional Director, Southern Africa/Regional Director, East Africa

Profile

Required

  • Experience of 8+ years in any combination of: social enterprise, INGO, mobile network operator, ICT4D, business development
  • Proven business development skills, with a history of submitting winning applications
  • Project management experience, including reporting and budgeting
  • Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French
  • Demonstrated self-management/entrepreneurial skills; adaptability and resourcefulness.​

Desirable

  • Experience living and working in the region
  • Experience implementing USG-funded projects
