Regional Manager (2 Positions) in the Operations Division

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above- mentioned positions. The positions will be on a five-year fixed term contract and one is tenable in Maseru while the other is in Leribe. The incumbents will be responsible to the Transmission and Distribution Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
BSc/BEng in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an electrical utility or energy sector.
Proven experience and knowledge of high voltage procedures and operations.
Basic knowledge of financial accounting.
Management and Leadership skills are essential.
Strong business acumen.
Excellent interpersonal; and people skills.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
The incumbent will be responsible for performing the following:
Policy/Strategy/Corporate Plan
Prepares corporate regional plan in line with the company’s strategic plan.
Collaborates effectively towards LEC’s long term objectives, goals and strategies.
Leads Area Managers and Maintenance Planners by demonstrating sound decision making and empowering regional staff.
Prepares, monitor and control annual maintenance plans and schedules within budget and on time.
Implements service connection policy as per set divisional and LEC targets.
Prepares, monitor and control the regions annual budget.
Administrative Issues
Manages the operational and fiscal activities of the region.
Instils discipline amongst regional staff.
Supervises Area Managers in accordance with LEC’s policies and procedures, LEC safety rules and Engineering manual.
Maintain high quality service to consumers, handling consumer complaints and ensuring satisfaction. Address power outage and service interruptions promptly.
Reporting
Provides regular reports to management about regional performance, challenges, achievements and key issues that need attention.
Monitors operational performance using company’s KPI’s on operational efficiency, outage restoration times and customer satisfaction.
Technical
Develops technical staff on working on high voltage transmission and distribution system.
Ensures adherence to engineering practices in the planning of major network expansion.
Carry out root cause analysis of transmission and distribution network faults and identify major problem areas and instigate projects to address them.
Safety
Ensure that all operations are compliant with national and local energy regulations, safety standards and environmental laws.
Ensure staff are up to date with safety practices, new technologies and regulatory requirements.
