About the Global Survivors Fund (GSF)

Launched in October 2019 by Nobel Peace Prize laureates Dr. Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad, the Global Survivors Fund (GSF) aims to enhance access to reparations for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence worldwide. GSF provides interim reparative measures, advocates for reparations programmes, and offers technical support to states and civil society. A survivor-centric approach is the cornerstone of GSF’s work.


Role Summary

The Regional Finance Coordinator ensures the smooth financial operations of GSF and its partners within a designated region. The role involves monitoring projects, supporting partners, ensuring compliance, and contributing to financial planning and risk management.


Key Responsibilities

Monitoring of Partners

  • Conduct due diligence and review project budgets
  • Monitor implementation progress and reporting deadlines
  • Train and coach partner finance staff
  • Review and approve financial reports and disbursements
  • Conduct regular audits and support external grant audits

Finance Policies and Tools

  • Implement and train on GSF finance policies and tools
  • Adapt tools to local needs for improved monitoring and controls

Regional Operations Management

  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting
  • Participate in planning meetings and field visits
  • Support project coordinators with financial analysis and coaching
  • Update risk assessments and performance indicators
  • Participate in quarterly regional monitoring meetings

Other Tasks

  • Support regional advocacy and events projects
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of financial practices
  • Assist the Head of Programme Finance with special projects

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Management (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum 8 years in senior finance roles in international non-profits (budget ≥ $10M)
  • Experience in financial audits, due diligence, and partner management
  • Proven capacity building and training experience
  • Experience working in at least 3 different countries

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical and Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in culturally diverse teams
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Fluency in English (French is an advantage)
