Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is a faith based Norwegian NGO working for global Justice. Our Policy Office for Southern Africa based in Pretoria works on Resource Governance and Fighting Inequality with programmes and partners in Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe. We support civil society and faith-based organisations in these countries to build/strengthen citizens capacity to participate and influence socio-economic development policy processes.

As we seek to further strengthen and expand our work we are looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Programmes Assistant to join our small and dynamic team in Pretoria for a one-year contract with possibility for extension

ROSA Programmes Assistant duties and responsibilities:
Coordinating efficient, quality, and timely NCA Regional Office in Southern Africa (ROSA) annual and periodic financial and narrative reporting processes for reporting to head office in Oslo and to back donors to fulfil internal and external reporting processes
Assisting annual and periodic auditing processes
Partner reporting follow up processes – communicating with NCA partners on programme work
Contribute to NCA ROSA and partners’ annual Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (PMER) processes,
Organise logistics for meetings and workshops including participants travel and hotel bookings
Maintenance of database of key existing and potential donors (bilateral, multilateral, philanthropic, foundations and other big and small donors and other strategic networks and organisations
Hold regular update meetings with the Regional Advocacy/Country manager
Participate in annual and quarterly programme update/planning meetings and strategic planning sessions/meetings
Any other programme assistant related duties as required and directed

Key deliverables;
Maintaining good, efficient, and quality ROSA and partner reporting processes annual agreements, annual/periodic disbursements, annual/periodic narrative and financial reporting
Maintaining updated NCA ROSA annual calendars and key activities and events
Keeping updated ROSA Reporting donor formats and calendars
Maintaining an updated donor database for potential funders, strategic networks, and organisations
Keeping a smooth link and active collaboration and engagement between programmes and finance departments
Good and regular partner engagement with ROSA partners as directed by Regional Advocacy/Country Manager.

Qualifications:
First Degree in development studies/ economics/international relations
At least 2 years working in an international organisation – good exposure to development projects and programmes
Experience working with both programmes and finance – good financial skills
Advanced tech and digital skills – tech savvy
Experience with working on a project/programme information management system such as PIMS
