350.org is looking for a Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Specialist to boost our capacity to serve the climate movement by overseeing the the recruitment process for all staff levels and positions. The Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Specialist will provide consulting services to hiring managers regarding recruitment and staffing. This includes ensuring effective utilization of internal and external job boards, thereby delivering qualified, high potential and diverse candidates to hiring managers. This position establishes strong collaborative partnerships with hiring managers/supervisors across various teams at 350.org and provides applicants with pre-employment information regarding job requirements, location, compensation, benefits, and employment policies. This position will play an important role in in creating a workplace that is diverse, equitable and inclusive.

About the HR Team:
The HR Team at 350.org is a small and remote team of HR professionals with diverse background and experiences. We are seeking strategic and tactical-minded professionals who will help us attract, retain and develop talents who will fight climate change through online and on-the-ground campaign, organizing and mobilization. We work in a fast-paced environment and oftentimes stressful, but we care for one another and we approach our work with kindness and rigor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle recruitment support for global and regional teams (North America, Latin America, Europe, Eastern Europe, Turkey, Asia, Africa, and the Pacific).
  • Manage and utilize web-based applicant tracking system (Greenhouse) and other recruiting tools to maintain resume submissions, open positions, candidate data and reporting.
  • Work with hiring managers in proactively planning and managing recruitment for open positions within teams, including creation of job descriptions and development of a recruitment strategy and interviewing plan for each open position.
  • Post recruitment advertising with external and internal job boards and forums, including social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates.
  • Determine applicant qualifications by reviewing resumes and conducting phone screens and interviews.
  • Conduct regular check-in with hiring managers to track and report on recruitment effectiveness/trends.
  • Utilize effective communication and follow-through while acting as a dependable point of contact for candidates and hiring managers.
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
  • Build networks to develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal aspects of recruiting.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with agencies and external recruiters
  • Conduct reference checks
  • Ensure that diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) lens are used in the recruitment process.
  • Conduct webinars on hiring best practice
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of professional Human Resources experience required with specialized expertise/skills in recruiting
  • 2-3 years of global recruitment experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of applicant tracking system (ATS) and HRIS.
  • A deep understanding and commitment to and centering diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) within hiring practices
  • Excellent English writing and verbal skills
  • Knowledge of or interest in international employment laws that cover recruitment
  • Alignment with 350.org’s vision, mission and progressive values

Preferred but not required:

  • Proficiency with G-Suite, Greenhouse, Namely, Slack and Zoom
  • Previous recruitment experience in a global not-for-profit particularly in the field of climate justice, social justice, racial justice, indigenous peoples’ rights, immigrant and refugee rights, women’s rights, LGBTQIA+ rights or other progressive organizations that promote justice and equity.
  • Bilingual
  • Global HR experience
  • Experience working remotely and across time zones and cultures

Others:

  • This position may require some domestic and international travel.
  • The successful candidate is expected to be a self-starter who can deliver results with minimum supervision. Ability to establish trust and build great working relationships with remote, virtual and multicultural teams.
  • Great communication skills (critical for working remotely). Able to communicate thoroughly and with self-confidence a broad range of information. Communicate detailed and/or technical information clearly, in writing and orally. Confident in running webinars on hiring best practice. Anticipate needs and interests of staff and other stakeholders and take proactive steps to respond to them. Promote “transparency of information” by sharing relevant information with line manager, colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • The size of our workforce will double at the end 2020.
