Job Title: Receptionist
We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Hotel Receptionist with an excellent focus on customer satisfaction to serve as guests’ first point of contact. The ideal candidate will be reliable, disciplined and experienced, with excellent communication and organizational skills. This is an amazing opportunity for someone with a strong Administrative or Hospitality background, to take ownership of a range of duties, and be a pivotal part of an exciting team.
REPORTS TO: Reservations Manager
JOB TYPE: Temporary, with the opportunity of being permanent
DUTIES:
– Maintain a positive attitude and friendly demeanor
– Respond to guest questions and be of assistance
– Keep a tidy and orderly workspace
– Assist with administrative and clerical tasks as needed
– Greeting guests on arrival to the hotel and making them instantly feel at ease
– Creating final bills at check-out and processing payments
– Dealing with guest complaints in a timely and professional manner
– Ability to keep the reception team’s morale high at all time
REQUIREMENTS:
– Excellent Microsoft Office Skills (esp. Word and Excel)
– A Diploma in Office Admin, Hospitality or another Tourism related certification
– Clear verbal and written communication skills in both English and Sesotho
– Ability to work well under pressure and calmly deal with high stress situations
– Good at multitasking and contributing towards a team
– Honest, reliable and disciplined
– Must be able to accept shift work and be able to work long hours (incl. both day and night shifts)
– Must be available to work on weekends and public holidays
– 1-2 years experience working in a hotel receptionist or similar position
– Basic knowledge of Hotel Booking Software is advantageous
