JOB TITLE : RADIOGRAPHIC TECHNICIAN
GRADE : E

JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Radiographer, the Radiographic Technician is responsible for monitoring the production of radiographs, performing of Fluoroscopy, supervising performance of all the Dark – Room work, monitoring Assistant Radiographers in the basic care of Radiographic Machinery and accessories, Facilitating training of Assistant Radiographers on ensuring safety of every person
from Radiation and performing other related administrative duties.
MAIN DUTIES
- Prepares the patients for ex -ray examination and explains x – ray procedures to the patients
- Performs general radiographic examinations.
- Performs darkroom procedures.
- Applies preventive maintenance skills on radiographic and photographic equipment and accessories.
- Applies radiation protection measures.
- Arranges immobilization and support devises to obtain and maintain proper patient positioning
- Records any information which will be helpful to the Radiologist or which describes limitations of the examination performed
- Implements code of conducts and ethics
JOB SPECIFICATION
COSC/LGCSE/GCE PLUS Certificate in Basic Training in Radiography with a minimum of three (3) years working experience in the Radiology Department.
