Title: X-RAY TECHNICIAN / RADIOGRAPHER x3

Reports to: Nurse In Charge

Duty station: 3 Rural Initiative Clinics (TIhanyaku, Lebakeng & Bobete)

Job Summary:

Health care professionals who specialize in the imaging of human anatomy to assist proper diagnosis and treatment of different ailments.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Undertake a range of basic radiographic services as requested

• Undertake periodic maintenance procedures of darkroom equipment and accessories

• Carry out silver recovery procedures

• Undertake specialized photographic work e.g. copying of radiographs

• Undertake manual processing of films

• Take care of own safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions or omissions

• Adhere to Health and Safety Policies and use any equipment or personal protective equipment provided to ensure safety

• Evaluate patients’ medical condition and history to determine most suitable radiographic technique for diagnosis

• Provide adequate counseling and psychological support to patients to address their concerns regarding an imaging procedure.

• Make timely request and report of consumables used in the radiographic service.

• Record, compile and report number of X-rays taken on monthly or quarterly basis

Minimum requirements

• Certified X-Ray Technician or equivalent by an accredited institution

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, manage multiple assignments, prioritize workload and adapt to fluctuating workload

• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft office
