Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following position tenable in the Ministry of Health.


POSITION: Radiographer

Grade: F
Number of Positions: Ten (10)
Responsible To: Senior Radiographer


Job Summary

The Junior Radiographer will perform basic radiographic procedures under supervision, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services.
This role supports senior radiographers by contributing to patient care, operating imaging equipment, and assisting in the efficient functioning of the imaging department.


Key Responsibilities

1. Imaging Procedures

  • Conduct basic imaging procedures and X-rays, including Ultrasound examinations, ensuring accuracy in patient positioning and exposure settings.
  • Adhere to imaging protocols covering patient identification, preparation, and safety procedures during imaging.
  • Assist in advanced imaging procedures such as MRI and CT scans as directed by senior staff.

2. Patient Care

  • Provide compassionate care to patients, ensuring they are comfortable and fully understand the imaging process.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

3. Radiation Safety

  • Follow radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self.
  • Ensure that imaging equipment is properly calibrated and report any malfunctions or faults to the supervisor immediately.

4. Documentation

  • Maintain accurate patient records, including details of procedures performed and images produced.
  • Assist in preparing reports and uploading images into the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).

5. Professional Development

  • Participate in professional development and training activities to enhance skills and knowledge in radiography.
  • Stay informed about new developments in radiological imaging techniques and technology.

Job Specification

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Imaging/Diagnostic Radiography or a related field,
    OR
  • Diploma in Medical Imaging/Diagnostic Radiography or a related field plus two (2) years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new imaging techniques.
