POSITION: RADIOGRAPH TECHNICIAN
Applications are invited for suitably qualified candidates for the position of Radiographer at Seboche Mission Hospital.
Job Title: Radiographer
Responsible & Report to: Medical Officer
Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Radiography
Requirements:
- Qualified Radiographer registered with Lesotho Medical, Dental & Pharmacy Council
- At least 3 years of experience as a Radiograph Technician
- Understands and complies with the dogmatic teaching of the Roman Catholic Church in medical issues
- No criminal record
Duties:
- Customer services related to patients, families, and staff
- Maintain inventory levels to minimize cost containment and loss prevention
- Confirm patient and type of procedures to be performed
- Acquire and document pertinent clinical information from chart and/or patient assessment
- Produce radiographs using current accepted radiographic techniques for optimal film quality at minimal radiation exposure to the patient in accordance with prescribed safety standards
- Responsible for the care, safety, and physical comfort of the patient having radiographs
- Provide for the specific needs of patients through accepted standards of care
- Assure patients’ privacy/confidentiality and dignity
- Assemble completed radiographic exams with appropriate file folder
- Prepare and administer chemical mixtures
- Work under the direction of a radiologist
- Participate in and coordinate with organizational processes to collect and evaluate information about hazards and safety practices to identify safety management issues
- Adhere to established policies and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment
- Follow physician instructions
- Remove and develop film after x-ray has been taken
