Scott Hospital is a health facility of the LECSA Church situated at Morija. To render top quality and holistic health care to patients from surrounding communities and referring health facilities, Scott Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of:
Job title: Radiographer
Responsible to: Medical Superintendent
Salary Grade: F
JOB SUMMARY:
As a senior member in the Unit, the incumbent is expected to assist with planning and supervision of the unit work. Organizes and manages the services provided in that unit. S/he is responsible for problem solving. S/he should provide administrative and professional supervision to the Radiographic Assistants.
DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES:
Perform all basic radiographic examination of the skeleton, chest and abdomen
Perform basic contrast media examination, e.g., urology, cholangiography
Perform the specified ultrasound (gynaecological, abdominal and obstetrical)
Care and maintain X-ray Department records such as registration of patients, record keeping, statistics, filing and retrieval system, ordering and storing of photographic supplies and stationery films
Process radiographic films
In the absence of a radiation safety, be responsible for radiation protection of patients and staff
Maintain a simple program assurance in the hospital to reduce film wastage and improve the standard of radiography
Maintain the x-ray and ultrasound equipment
Practice the standard of silver recovery that is in use in the country
Work under the supervision of a Medical Superintendent
Impact theoretical and practical instructions to junior staff in the department
Conduct and guide research work in the department
Plan and budget for the unit
Do monthly statistics and reports and submit the to the Medical Superintendent
Draw the leave roaster for the unit.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- A Diploma /Degree in Radiology
- Registration with the Lesotho Medical, Pharmaceutical and Dental Association.
- Leadership skills.
- Good Communication skills.
- Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
- Good decision maker.
