Position Title: Radiographer
Duty Station: Botsabelo MDR-TB Hospital
Reports To: Radiologist
Position Profile
Partners In Health Lesotho (PIH Lesotho) has been supporting the Ministry of Health in the management and care of Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (DRTB) since 2007. At Botsabelo Hospital, PIH Lesotho provides high-standard inpatient, high dependency, and intensive care services for DRTB patients.
The Radiographer will work alongside a highly qualified team at Botsabelo Hospital to support diagnostic imaging services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic radiographic examinations as requested by clinicians
- Operate digital radiography equipment and ensure proper image acquisition and storage
- Utilize PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) for image management
- Ensure accurate patient identification and data entry into radiology systems
- Provide counseling and psychological support to patients undergoing imaging procedures
- Adhere to health and safety policies and use PPE appropriately
- Monitor and maintain quality control procedures for equipment and image quality
- Participate in routine quality assurance checks and report equipment malfunctions
- Maintain accurate records of imaging procedures and compile reports
- Request and manage radiographic consumables in a timely manner
Minimum Requirements
- Certified X-Ray Technician or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution
- Basic IT knowledge and familiarity with PACS and radiology information systems
- Understanding of quality control and assurance practices in radiographic imaging
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple assignments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic digital imaging software
