PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The incumbent will assume overall responsibility for the maintenance of all radiographic equipment and documentation. Perform General Computerised Radiography (CR), Specialised Radiological examinations, MRI, Ultrasound, provide good quality patient care as per Tsepong (Pty Ltd) Netcare Lesotho policies and standards operation procedures and Implement radiation protection and safety measures, Quality Control, Infection Control and Risk Management procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties of the post include but are not limited to the following, and are carried out in accordance with the Lesotho Netcare Tsepong (Pty Ltd) Policies and Procedures.
Principal Radiographer will:
• Perform various general x-ray examinations.
• Support in performing special examinations in Fluoroscopy, Mammogram and CT-scans.
• Implement the risk management and Infection control Radiology Departments activities.
• Implement Quality Control programme of the Radiology Departments.
• Implement some day to day operations of Radiology Departments under Tsepong (Pty) Ltd at (QMMH.
• Implement the radiation Protection and Safety measures to patients, staff and public.
• Participate in training programmes for Radiology Department staff (as part of Continuous Professional Development Training Programme.)
Patient Care
• Provide good qualitative patient care in line with the Tsepong (Pty Ltd) Hospital rules, Policies and standards Operation Procedures and values.
• Provide opinions on patients scheduled for radio-diagnostics and other Imaging modalities from within Tsepong and District Hospitals General Practitioners/ Doctors.
• Make informative diagnostic reports and advises/ recommends on alternative Imaging modalities that will further support patient diagnoses.
Safety of officer
• Ensure that, x-ray department operate according to safety rules and regulations of Radiology Profession and Regulatory body on Radiation and Safety Standards.
• Ensure that the Radiology Department operates in line with the policies and standards operation procedures of Tsepong (pty) Ltd.
• Provide technical advice on the safe usage and hazards that may arise from operating the x-ray equipment.
General
• Work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that an efficient service is provided to patients
• Mediates on patients and staff in times of disputes.
• Ensure the Department is kept risk and infection free and clean

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Professional flexibility in working hours while supporting daily business hours.
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary.

5.1.Qualifications and work experience requirements
• Bsc/ B.Tech Degree in Radiography.
• Diploma in Radiography (from Recognised Institution)
• Registered with Dental and Pharmacy Council of Lesotho.
• Computer Literacy

• Excellent planning, organising and control and supervisory skills.
• Must have a customer care orientation
• Must be able to use initiative
• Fluency in English.

• 5 years experience as a Radiographer.
