The Examinations Council of Lesotho [ECoL] invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified local candidates for the following position;

Job summary:
The incumbent will be expected to typeset and develop artwork on all assessment materials and publications developed by ECoL. He/she will also be responsible for ensuring that all materials produced by ECoL maintain face validity.
Under the general supervision of the Director Assessment and Evaluation, the Question Paper Graphic Designer is responsible for overseeing all activities in the Question Paper Production Unit, as well as coordinating the development of question papers in consultation with the Subject Managers and Senior Manager- Quality Assurance. The incumbent is also responsible for typesetting and developing artwork on all assessment materials and publications developed by the Examinations Council of Lesotho and ensuring that all materials produced by ECoL maintain face validity.
Duties:
• Typesets question papers and other material using the latest computer programs and software
• Prepares finished artwork by operating the necessary equipment and
computer software Design graphics that communicate precise and concise message on question papers and other the products.
• Designs question paper graphics using appropriate means and control.
• Uses relevant and appropriate computer graphics and software to create drawings, diagrams and illustrations on question papers and other products.
• Demonstrates expertise in appropriate computer graphic design software to develop quality assessment materials.
• Demonstrates ability and maturity to give and receive constructive criticism.
• Designs graphics (diagrams, graphs, scenarios, illustrations etc.) best suited for the question papers.
• Liaises with the Subject Managers and Subject Officers about layout and design of question papers.
• Reviews final layouts and suggests improvements where there is a need.
• Assists in the overall functions of ECoL and performs other paper production duties as may be assigned from time to time by the management.

Qualifications and work experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or Diploma in the related field.
• Minimum experience of 3 years as a Graphic Designer in question paper development or in related field.
• Technical knowledge in Technical Illustration (Graphic Arts, or Engineering Graphics) or equivalent formal post-high school training and experience.
